Normalized difference vegetation index or NDVI maps help us to locate vigor differences across a vineyard. Knowing where those differences are can enable changes to irrigation, fertilization, and differential harvesting and can ultimately keep us from "field blending" fruit of different ripeness. Blending should be a winemaker's job, not the vineyard manager's.
